Death has been averted at Annagloor, where a hidden passage lies beneath a ringfort. Broker opened the floor in 1937 and found a lined route, but the earth swallowed the entrance around 1976. People may have used the passage to escape danger or hide treasure, yet the ground removed the invitation. The fort keeps its secret because human life withdrew from the place rather than discovering every chamber.

In ringfort (CO38-02401-). According to Broker (1937, 43), 'flags taken up and lined passage found'. Depression noted in W half of fort; according to local information, ground collapsed here c. 1976 and was subsequently backfilled.
