What is recorded here

No visible chamber or chamber-shaped trace remains at Lyons. What is left is a small square stone base, perforated and fitted with a round tenon, now set on its edge in the west jamb of the south doorway. The font may have stood elsewhere in the church before being rebuilt into the entrance, but no record names that first place or explains when the stone moved.

Built into the W jamb of the S doorway in the old parish church at Lyons (KD015-004001-). A small, square, perforated font base (dims. Wth 0.6m; H 0.6m) with a slightly raised roundel (diam. 0.4m) which acted as a tenon with a central perforation (diam. 0.008m), has been turned on its edge and reused in the church doorway.
