Graveslab in Lynally Glebe marks a sixth-century monastery founded by Colmán Eala, who died in 611. The stone itself left the glebe for the National Museum, yet it still belongs to the place because it carried the shape of someone the community knew well. Perhaps Colmán lay beneath it when the monastery was young, his name forgotten by everyone except the stones that remembered the weight of his years.
