Cross-inscribed stone (present location) in Lullymore West

Seven cross-inscribed stones (KD012-010----, KD012-010001- to KD012-010005- and KD012-010008-) and two crosses (KD012-010006- and KD012-010007-) were moved from the early ecclesiastical site at Lullymore (KD012-006----) and incorporated in a nearby 1798 memorial. Another cross-inscribed stone (KD012-020----) was moved to the adjoining Bog of Allen Nature Centre Museum. KD012-010----: The present location of a broken sandstone slab (dims. L 0.58m; Wth 0.33m) bearing a lightly incised, triple-armed cross on a gently curving shaft. The central arms appear to have expanded terminals while the cross head is slightly bulbous. This is M. Kelly's 'Cross 2'. (Kelly 2006, 177) The presumed original location of this cross-inscribed stone at the early monastic site at Lullymore (KD012-006----) is designated KD012-006012-.
