Springhill in County Louth, Ireland. Local tradition remembers a man-made underground passage there, but the entrance has closed or been lost, denying modern walkers the darkness and depth that once intrigued them.

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991).
