Indicated is a crannog in County Mayo, Ireland, though no visible marker or clear memory remains to show where it sat. The name itself points at absence, as if the place refused to be seen but could still be identified by implication. Perhaps it drowned beneath a lake, collapsed into marsh, or was never built at all.
