Easter Rock is a small oval island in a sheltered bay of Lough Corrib, County Mayo, perhaps an artificial stone cairn hidden beneath dense vegetation. It may have been a crannog, a place where people lived above the water, watching weather and keeping distance from the shore. The rock still holds that shape, thirty metres across and forty in width, waiting for someone to remember what it carried.
