Easter Island is a crannog in County Mayo, Ireland, an artificial island where people built homes above water. It is not the distant Pacific island with stone heads, though the identical name still misleads. The real Easter Island belongs to west Irish seas, tucked among shoreline and memory, waiting for someone to speak its true location.
