What is recorded here

Lismoyle is a Galway rath, a 35-metre circle on a gentle slope where a field boundary now cuts through what may have been a home, a shrine or a warning. The bank still bends from south-southwest to north-northwest, but the rest has surrendered to grass, rain and the patience of cattle. Perhaps people once drew a line around that place and refused to forget it; perhaps the fairy fort is only the shape left behind when an ordinary life stops naming itself.

On a gentle N-facing slope in farmland. Poorly preserved circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) defined by a bank from SSW to NNW; a scarp forms the enclosing element from NNW to N and from SSE to SSW. No visible surface trace of the enclosing element survives from N to SSE. A field boundary overlies the enclosing element from SSE through S to NW.
