What is recorded here

Situated on a pronounced rise in undulating pasture. Depicted on 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map as field boundary extending in an arc from S-N-WNW. From WNW-N-NE this meets a second, almost linear bank aligned NE-SW, which has a very slight curve at NW. For the remainder of the circuit no enclosing feature is shown. Raised subcircular area (max. dim. 52m) defined by a low, roughly constructed wall (Wth. 1.5m - 2m; int. H 0.4m) which has been incorporated into the field boundary. In its SE quadrant is a small enclosure (SL019-114002-). Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 19 January 2011
