House

House, 17th century

What is recorded here

Houses are indicated on the Down Survey (1655-6) barony map of Crannagh in ‘Lisnalea Lands and Ballibeglands’. On the Down Survey (1655-6) parish map of ‘Tullaroane’ three houses are indicated in ‘Lisnelea Lands’ and the terrier accompanying the map states that Lisnalea is one of the townlands that was not forfeited and ‘John Grace protest[ant]’ is listed as the proprietor in 1640 (ibid.). The houses may be a stylistic indication of settlement, however, the houses are listed separately in the SMR as KK018-076001-; KK018-076002- and KK018-076003-. See attached: KK018-076003-_01 extract from Down Survey (1655-6) parish map of ‘Tullaroane’ (Hib. Reg., courtesy of Trinity College Dublin) Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 29 March 2021
