What is recorded here

Indicated was a thirty-metre circular embankment in County Mayo pasture, visible only on the 1838 map before ploughs and time erased it. It faced a break in the limestone slope where the land drops southwest, near another rath a short walk northwest. The disappearance is not loss but transformation: the shape moved from soil into memory, waiting for someone to walk the pasture and imagine the bank rising again.

In pasture in undulating limestone terrain, at a break of slope with a fall of ground to SW. A circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 30m) is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is not shown on later map editions. It has been levelled and there is no visible trace at ground level.
