Detached six-bay single-storey direct entry thatched farmhouse with dormer attic, dated 1855; extant 1895, originally two separate three-bay single-storey direct entry houses. "Restored", 1995. Replacement pitched reed thatch roof on collared timber construction with chicken wire-covered exposed hazel or sally lattice stretchers to raised ridge having exposed scallops, cement rendered chimney stacks, and flagged coping to gables. Replacement cement rendered battered walls. Square-headed central door openings with concealed dressings framing replacement timber boarded or tongue-and-groove timber panelled half-doors. Square-headed flanking window openings with shallow sills, and concealed dressings framing replacement two-over-two timber sash windows having part exposed sash boxes. Interior including kitchen retaining hearth. Road fronted with gravel verge to front.
A farmhouse identified as an integral component of the mid nineteenth-century vernacular heritage of the outskirts of Bohola by such attributes as the rectilinear direct entry plan form; the construction in unrefined local fieldstone displaying a feint battered silhouette; and the high pitched roof showing a reed thatch finish. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with quantities of the original or sympathetically replicated fabric, both to the exterior and to the interior, thus upholding much of the character or integrity of the composition. Furthermore, adjacent outbuildings (extant 1917) continue to contribute positively to the group and setting values of a neat self-contained ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan streetscape.
