Freestanding monument, dated 1966, on a rectangular plan. Set back from street with concrete block boundary wall to perimeter having lichen-covered concrete coping.
A monument by Paul Fjelde (1892-1984) of New York erected as a testimony to Martin J. Sheridan (1881-1918), 'the greatest all-around athlete of his day', representing an integral component of the twentieth-century built heritage of County Mayo.
