What is recorded here
In pasture, located on a rise overlooking a stream 20m to N. There is a disused railway track 50m to SE.
Raised oval area (26.3m E−W; 22.9m N−S) defined by a scarp (H 0.8m at S, 2.4m at N; Wth slope 1.6m at S, 5m at N). The scarp has been levelled at NE−E (Wth 8m), is low and uneven on the SE arc and has been disturbed at W where a field fence that abutted it was removed. It is best preserved and retains a pronounced external slope at NW−NE, where it is enhanced by the natural fall of ground.
The rath is rather dilapidated; field boundaries which abutted the rath at SE, SW and N have been removed and field clearance debris is dumped on the rath. Another rath (MA071-039----) is located on the opposite side of the stream, 100m to W.
