Hut site in Lisgool

Hut site

What is recorded here

Lisgool in County Leitrim holds half a circular hut inside a rath, its stones marking a small room where someone once sheltered from rain or thought. The missing half has surrendered to time, leaving only enough shape to suggest a life lived close to the earth.
Half a circular hut-site (int. diam. 4.3m; ext. diam. 6.5m) survives S of a field drain in the interior of rath (LE001-002001-). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 11 December, 2015

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
