Milling machines bitten through the peat and threw a twenty-six centimetre brushwood rod onto the Offaly field. People may have laid that rod across a water hole, marked a boundary or built a tiny bridge before the land forgot it. The survey refused to call it a monument because so little remained, yet the machine stripped the area clean enough to reveal the shape of human hurry.

A piece of brushwood (L 0.26m min.; diam. 0.035m) on the field surface which has been damaged by milling. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
