Structure

An alder roundwood (L 0.32m min.; diam. 0.07m) in the drain face. The piece had been worked to a wedge point and is in poorly humified Sphagnum peat containing ericaceous root. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
