Structure

A spread of fifteen pieces of brushwood, orientated approximately N-S, on the field surface (L 1.95m min.; Wth 1.2m min.; D 0.06m min.). Small chisel points are present of some of the pieces. Birch, hazel and alder were the species identified. The site is located in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with some Eriophorum. A more dispersed spread of five light roundwoods is noted nearby. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
