Structure

An ash roundwood and two pieces of brushwood (L 2.95m; Wth 0.72m; D 0.11m). The roundwood and a piece of hazel brushwood are located 2.2m W of the third piece which is of ash. One of the pieces has a toolmark. The wood sits well-humified Sphagnum with Eriophorum and Menyanthes seeds. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
