What is recorded here

A half-split oak roundwood (diam. 0.091m), orientated N-S, and a piece of hazel brushwood (L 1.95m; Wth 1.1m; D 0.09m). Three pieces of light brushwood, orientated NW-SE, are located 1.2m to the W. The brushwood has been identified as hazel, oak and willow. The site is set in moderately humified Eriophorum and Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
