PLATFORM RATH in Lisadearny

PLATFORM RATH

What is recorded here

Lisadearny holds a platform rath, an earthen stage lifted above the Fermanagh field where human hands shaped the land before written memory. The distinction between a ordinary farm boundary and a ceremonial stage has blurred, yet the ground still carries the weight of that choice. People may have gathered there to mark seasons, settle disputes or watch the horizon, while others simply passed beside a mound they never questioned. The platform remains because it refused to disappear, waiting for someone to remember why height mattered.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLATFORM RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
