Grave Yard

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Grave Yard in Grange, County Galway, is a small oval enclosure beside a ruined church where one inscribed child grave stands out among rough, unmarked stones. The southern burials align east to west while the northern stones scatter without pattern, suggesting layers of human loss across centuries. That contrast turns a modest Galway field into a place where forgotten lives still press against the ground.
In undulating pastureland. This rectilinear graveyard (48m NE-SW; 46m NW-SE) is delimited by a modern stone wall. A church (GA096-125----) occupies its S half. Most of the burials lie to the S of the church and are modern in date. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 26 March 2020
