Graveslab in Letterkenny marks a burial ground beside an older parish church, with the earliest known stone dating from around 1620. Two worn slabs still lie south of the present church, one bearing a faded armorial plaque and the other perhaps belonging to the same century. They may include the grave of Henry Wray, who died in 1652, though his memorial has slipped from easy finding. What is certain is that death and memory have layered this place since before the town took its modern shape.

This church appears to have been built on the site of an earlier 17th century parish (DG053-043001-) church with adjoining graveyard(DG053-043002-) with earliest graveslab (DG053-043003-) dating from c. 1620 (SMR file 1996). Unable to locate position of graveslab dating from 1620 inside graveyard. There are two graveslabs located approx 12m S of the C of I church, one of which has a large armorial plaque but the inscription has been worn away and there is a similar slab closeby which may be 17th century in date. According to the tourist information panel about Letterkennny town one of the oldest graves in this graveyard belongs to Henry Wray who died in August 1652.
