Structure

An irregular distribution (Wth 4.09m; D 0.41m) of brushwood and twigs in opposing drain faces. The wood occurs in two concentrations c. 2m apart. Both groups are comprised of light brushwood and a small number of twigs. The brushwood is 3-4 pieces deep but is sparsely distributed and does form a clear structure. A small number metal-cut toolmarks are noted. The site lies in a poorly humified Sphagnum peat containing Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
