Situated on a level area 1.5m W of a stream at the mouth of a small peat basin. A fulacht fia (MA085-007001-) lies c. 20m to S. It comprises the very faint remains of a roughly rectangular house (E–W 4.3m, N–S 3.6m). It is defined by a very faint grassy bank (H 0.1m max.), scarp and/or a change in vegetation. Along the western side where the bank is best defined, there are traces of a faint channel (Wth 1.5m × D 0.2m max.) directly outside it. The northern, eastern and southern sides are delimited intermittently by faint scarps. The interior is level and grassy. The above description is derived from: New Survey of Clare Island.
