What is recorded here

Eighty metres east of Leamaneh Castle, a grassed-over stony mound holds the valley floor like a forgotten knee. It rises half a metre, flattens into a ten-metre disc, and edges upward at the rim, while Knockloon Hill climbs four hundred and fifty metres behind it. The land has kept this shape through cartography and centuries, suggesting people once gathered there before forgetting what they gathered for.

On the base of a flat valley c. 80m to the E of Leamaneh Castle walled garden (CL016-032001-) and with a complex of monuments including a ring-barrow (CL016-037----) and ring-ditch (CL016-182----) on Knockloon Hill rising c. 450m to the S. Hachured on the 1840 and 1916 OS 6-inch maps. Listed as ‘enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). A grassed-over subrectangular stony mound (12.5m N-S; 12m E-W; H 0.4-0.7m), highest at S, with a flat top (diam. 10m) and a raised upper edge (H 0.1-0.2m).
