Standing stone in Leahys

Standing stone

What is recorded here

Leahys holds a pointed standing stone above a golf course, yet its history may end where the lawn began. The stone rises 1.35m on a low ridge, small enough to overlook and sharp enough to remember. It may have been lifted and set during landscaping, becoming a marker only after people started dropping balls beside it.
In grounds of golf course, atop low E-W ridge. Irregularly shaped upright stone (H 1.35m; 0.44m x 0.23m) which comes to a pointed top. May possible have been put in this position when golf course landscaped. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
