Structure

A plank (L 1.305m; Wth 0.143m; D 0.027m) on the field surface. The piece is warped as a result of substantial desiccation and machine damage. The plank has been radially split and numerous toolmarks are apparent on one edge. The wood species has been identified as Pomoideae. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
