Structure

Two pieces of heavy brushwood in the drain face (L 1.48m; Wth 0.4m; D 0.058m). The pieces lie 1.48m apart and run in a N-S direction. Both pieces show evidence for woodworking. One of the pieces was identified as Pomoideae, the other as birch. The site is situated in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with occasional Eriophorum. It is located c. 2m E of SMR OF007-209---- and c. 5m W of SMR OF007-214----. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
