Structure

Three worked roundwoods and two plank-like pieces of wood on the field surface (L 1.05m; Wth 0.87m; D 0.08m). All pieces are orientated NW-SE but do not form a coherent structure. The pieces have been disturbed by milling and are variably degraded. An unworked roundwood is recorded approximately 3m to the S of the site but its relationship to this feature is uncertain. Wood species include holly and oak. The site is located on moderately humified Eriophorum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
