Cist in Lattonfasky

Located on a terrace just below the crest of a W-facing slope. The cairn (MO024-025----) has evidence of three cists. This cist at the SW edge of the cairn is roofed by a single large roof-stone supported by six slender upright stones. Revised by: Michael Moore Date of revised upload: 9 May 2018

Neolithic cist tomb; dates to the earlier part of the Neolithic period in Ireland (c. 4000–2500 BCE). Its location within a cairn and the presence of multiple cists suggest it was part of a burial monument used for communal interment.
