RATH in Largy

RATH

What is recorded here

Largy holds a rath, an ancient earthwork built by human hands before modern borders drew their lines. The official record preserves only its name and kind, yet the shape suggests people who valued defensible ground and repeated labour. Perhaps families lived there through seasons of rain and harvest, marking time in soil rather than ink.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
