Bartholomew Mosse

Memorial

What is recorded here

Bartholomew Mosse transformed a cramped Dublin theatre into a lifeline for mothers, then staged plays and built pleasure gardens to fund the Rotunda Hospital. He drained his own purse for the work, fled creditors through a window, and vanished into Wales rather than watch the dream collapse. The hospital still stands because one stubborn surgeon refused to accept that women must birth in darkness.
Bartholomew Mosse is recorded as a memorial in County Laois. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
