Fairy fort in Lahard, County Cavan: a raised circular area, internally about 35.7 metres across, enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide fosse. The bank remains best defined at the north, while a break at the south-east probably marks the original entrance. People may have lived, herded, hidden or ritualised there before the name changed; the earth still holds the shape of that choice.
