Knockbrack East once held a circular fort large enough to mark on maps and photographs before men levelled it into ordinary ground. The earth forgot the shape, but the region remembers the loss because an intact ring would still stand where soil was taken.

Marked as a circular enclosure on both the 1841-42 and 1898 OS maps, this site also shows up quite clearly on the Geological Survey of Ireland's aerial photographs.
