Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Knockadoo (leyny By.) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Knockadoo (leyny By.), County Sligo, Ireland. The raised circular area measures 37.2m north-south and 37.7m east-west within a 5.6m wide earthen bank. Gaps appear at the north, west and east, while a shallow depression outside the west bank may be the remains of an external fosse. A man-made underground passage occupies the south-west quadrant of the interior.
In pasture, at a break in slope on the N side of a ridge. A raised circular area (37.2m N-S; 37.7m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 5.6m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 2.7m). Gaps occur in the bank at N (Wth 3m), at W (Wth 1.5m) and at E (Wth 1m). A field boundary has been built onto the external face of the bank E-SW. The bank has been dug into in several places E-S. A shallow depression (Wth 1.4m), evident outside the bank W-NNW, may be the remains of an external fosse. There is a Man-made underground passage (SL025-059002-) in the SW quadrant of the interior.
