What is recorded here

Marian and others walked the north coast road past Killycarn, where an old standing stone still marks the land. She remembered that people had lived along this coast before written records and before the current town names. The stone did not need a date to feel at home. It stood beside the road like a quiet witness, waiting for nobody and watching everyone pass.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
