Fairy fort, Killeagh, County Cork. A circular earthwork 25 metres across, with a worn bank, a shallow ditch, and an outer ridge, set on a west-facing slope above the Funshion. Animals have rubbed it smooth and bushes have crept inside, but the shape still reads as a made place, not a heap of soil. People may have lived here before written records, or never at all; the earth keeps both possibilities without answering.

In pasture, on W-facing slope, above steep S-facing slope down to River Funshion. Circular area (25m E-W) enclosed by heavily weathered earthen bank (int. H 0.8m), worn due to animal activity; intervening fosse NE->SSE; outer earthen bank (H 0.8m) NE->SE which survives as scarp SSE->NW. Break in bank to NNE (Wth 2.2m) and SSE. Interior slopes down to W; slight scarp exists inside and concentric with W bank where interior raised to compensate for hillslope. Enclosure partially overgrown with bushes and briars.
