Indicated

Indicated is a crannog in County Mayo, Ireland, though no visible marker or detailed account survives to show what it held. The name itself points at something lost, as if the place waited for someone to notice it before disappearing again. Perhaps it stood in shallow water, dotted with wooden stakes and reeds, hosting a family or a hermit during seasons when the land around became unusable. Whatever it was, the lake or bog has taken it back, leaving only the suggestion that life once balanced itself on a small artificial island.
