What is recorded here
Anne Ahern Getty wrote Orwen and Sabrina in 1970, giving fictional shape to the local story that two ill-fated lovers sleep beneath the cross. The claim is not in the stone, which remains unnamed and broken into a ring head and separate shaft. It is in the life the place continued to lead after people stopped knowing why they had made it.
There is a small pyramidal cross-base (dims 0.6m x 0.6m; H 0.5m) of sandstone with edge mouldings on the top within Killary church (ME012-020----).
