What is recorded here

Indicated was a subcircular fairy fort on a Galway hillock, wide enough for a dozen people to walk beside one another before the field walls clipped its edges. Quarrying bit into the eastern face, but the ring itself vanished without a ridge or scar. Whatever lived there stopped resisting the shovel, leaving only grass and the memory of a shape the land once held.

On a hillock in grassland. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a subcircular enclosure (c. 26m E-W; c. 23m N-S). It occupied the S end of a roughly rectangular small field and the E and W field walls clipped it from NE to SE and NW to SW respectively. No visible surface trace survives.
