One chamber in Kilfeacle holds a Maltese cross and a human skull. The chamber is not a display cabinet. It is a buried room where the dead person and the living witness still touch each other through stone. The cross is not decoration. It is a marker that the chamber belongs to someone who understood death as a boundary between worlds. The skull is not a warning. It is proof that the chamber was made for a real body, not an idea. The room exists because someone lived, died and was remembered with enough care to shape stone around the fact.

While ploughing over an 'old moat' ringfort (LA025-033001-), a number of flat stones, set on edge, were found c. 0.3m below the ground surface. Two larger stones which may have been cover-stones were also found; one was inscribed with a Maltese cross (LA025-033003-), the other at E end of the grave was found to cover portions of a human skull.
