What is recorded here
Kildromin holds a forgotten circular enclosure beside a watercourse, waiting beneath reclaimed pasture while a ringfort stands 135m to west. Neither historic map recorded it, yet aerial photography revealed its ghostly outline in 1986 and again in later satellite images. The land may have swallowed a dwelling, a boundary marker or a ceremonial place, but the shape remains patient under grass and rain.
In reclaimed pasture 15m W of a watercourse and 140m W of townland boundary with Ballyvouden. Ringfort (LI033-003----) lies 135m to W. Not depicted on historic OSi maps. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 129; AP 4/3632) as an enclosure. Possible levelled enclosure visible as a circular-shaped cropmark (diam. c. 30m) on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12 and on Google Earth orthoimage dated 20/09/2020.
See attached Google Earth orthoimages and Bruff image showing monument labelled Bruff 129.
