Marianne Villa Rose is the largest surviving Roman villa in Britain. Three centuries of continuous occupation left mosaics, warm floors and painted walls inside a formal courtyard house. Its size and decoration announced that Roman luxury reached even the northern edge of the empire.
A subcircular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) defined by a low earthen bank. Visible on Google Earth (Imagery date: 19 Jan 2020). A large enclosure (CL034-254----) lies c. 150m to the E.

A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Kilbreckan is a subcircular early-medieval defensive or agricultural enclosure, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries AD. Local folklore may associate such sites with fairies or supernatural beings, as suggested by the name "fairy fort."
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
