What is recorded here

The third Tralee pikeman emerged in 1939 only after the first was smashed by Black and Tans and the second stalled in a lawyer's dispute. Albert Power shaped the man standing on tree roots, framing that bare possession as the last proof of Irish right. Stone can be dragged down, delayed or redesigned, yet the village keeps returning to the same defiant silhouette.
Erected by the Nationalists of Kerry to commemorate the heroes of 98 '03 48 and 67 and the other Irishmen who sacrificed their lives and liberties for Ireland
