The present whereabouts of both the rubbing and the stone are not known. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 871. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 7 August 2013
Dated to the early Christian period, likely 7th to 10th century AD, the inscription may commemorate a person of significance, possibly a local chieftain or religious figure, with "Mac Cu Draca" interpreted as a personal name or title. Such stones often served as memorials or territorial markers, reflecting early Gaelic traditions of commemoration.
