Hut site in Inchee West

Hut site

What is recorded here

A number of circular and rectangular structures occupy the N half of the caher's interior, and appear to be fairly modern features. They may overlie earlier features, however, as Henry referred to three round stone huts in the site which may have been located in this sector (1957, 138-9). The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 595. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 29 July 2013
