Hut site in Garries

In rough pasture, on an E-sloping rocky hollow, overlooking the valley of the Flesk River. The remains of a rectangular hut (6.5m N-S; 3.7m E-W) defined by a partially collapsed, rubble stone wall (T 0.6m; H 1.7m) with larger stones visible along the base. The SE corner and parts of the W and N walls have collapsed inwards, obscuring the interior with rubble. There is an entrance (Wth 1m) at the centre of the E wall. The remains of an annexe (2.9m E-W; 2.3m N-S), defined by a grass-covered wall (T 0.6m; H 0.3m), externally abuts the N wall. A rectangular stone structure (2m N-S; 0.9m E-W; H 1m), roofed with stone slabs, is adjacent to the external SW corner. Traces of cultivation ridges are visible on nearby terraces to the E.
