What is recorded here

Gateway, extant 1907, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of margined granite ashlar piers on chamfered plinths having cut-granite pyramidal capping supporting spear head-detailed cast-iron double gates. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Marlay House.
A gateway not only making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at an entrance on to the grounds of the Marlay House estate, but also clearly illustrating the continued development or "improvement" of the estate in the later nineteenth century.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
